CONNECTICUT Is the Winner of Bosphorus Cup

 

Sheikh Obaid Al Maktoum’s 4 years old colt CONNECTICUT (New Approach - Craigmill / Slip Anchor) won the International Bosphorus Cup (G2) with a finish time of 2.29.45 with his jockey Adam Kirby and received the first prize of 180.000 Euro.

The race was held on 2400 meters on turf track with the participation of 9 thoroughbreds of 3yo+. Godolphin Racing’s MAFTOOL (Hard Spun-With Intention/Mr. Greeley) came second and followed by Mr. Baris Kaya’s FLY BY ME (Karabeyhan-Lady Fi/Among Men) and Qatar Racing’s ROGUE RUNNER (King’s Best-Rosa Di Brema/Lomitas).

In the race, margins were as follows: 1/2 L-1/2 L.-1 L. 

Dr. Nihat Pakdil, Undersecretary of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and President of Board of High Stewards, presented the cup to the winning connections.

Mr. Behcet Homurlu, Member of Board of High Stewards and Former President of Jockey Club of Turkey, presented a plate to Luca Cumani’s assistant trainer Mrs. Amy Murphy on behalf of winning trainer.

Mr. Seref Somturk, Member of Board of High Stewards, presented a plate to winning jockey Adam Kirby.

Mr. Yasin Kadri Ekinci, President of Jockey Club of Turkey; Mr. Necati Demirkol, General Secretary of Jockey Club of Turkey; Mr. H. Turgut Alakus, Treasurer Member of Jockey Club of Turkey, Mr. Sukru Erdem and Mr. Can Polat Eyigun, Board Members of Jockey Club of Turkey and Mr. Mustafa Ozdemir, Member of Board of High Stewards, also attended to the cup ceremony which was held at Winner Circle.
