SILENT CAT Wins 61st 1000 Guineas
61st of the 1000 Guineas (G1), the first classical race of the racing Istanbul, was held on Sunday, 15th May at Veliefendi Racecourse.
SILENT CAT (Mountain Cat - Silent Bull / Holy Bull) owned by Serdal Adalı and trained by Sedat Özölke with her jockey Özcan Yıldırım, won the 61st 1000 Guineas, which staged a breathtaking challenge on the last straight.

18 thoroughbreds of 3yo struggled to win this classical race with a prize Money of 400.000 TL, which was held on turf track on 1600 meters. MOMENTERO (Sri Pekan - Momentum / Lockton) owned by Ömer Faruk Binbaşıoğlu finished the race as 2nd with her jockey Ahmet Çelik and followed by FOULITA (Unaccounted For - Speedy Girl / Wolf) owned by Ergun Kalabak with Selim Kaya and HELGALEIN (Halicarnassus- Miss Despina / Always A Classic) owned by Metin Günday with Halis Karataş.
TEXAS GAL still holds the finish time record of 1000 Guineas with 1.34.88 and the finish time for 2016’s 1000 Guineas winner SILENT CAT was 1.36.12. The margins of the race was Neck – Head – Neck.
SILENT CAT obtained the 4th victory at the 6th start of her racing career, started on 21st July 2015.
