Brendan Smith, Minister of

Gives the Jockey Club of Turkey Cup

Leopardstown, one of the most
important Racecourses in Ireland, hosts Jockey Club of Turkey Race.

In the Jockey Club of Turkey Race in G3, six 3-yearold thoroughbreds tried
hard to win the race. One of the most leading ecurie, Khalid Abdullah’s
Thoroughbred Famous Name (Dansili – Fame At Last / Quest For Fame)
won the Jockey Club of Turkey Race on 2000m turf.

Famous Name,
which is breed by the Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms, finished the race
with the timing 1.54.62 with its jockey P. J. Smullen and Michael Tabor’s
Thoroughbred Steinback became runner-up with its jockey Johnny
Murtagh. And Mrs. D. F. O’Rourke’s Bea Remembered became 3rd
with its jockey W. J. Supple.

Winning prize was 39.000 €, runner-up prize was 11.400 €,
third prize was 5.400 € and fourth prize was 1.800 €. The
owner of the winning horse received his cup from the Ireland
Agriculture,
Fisheries and Food
Minister Brendan Smith by request of the President of the Jockey Club of
Turkey.

Behçet Homurlu, the President of the Jockey Club of Turkey, and Bahadýr
Gödek, Secretary General, participated in the cup ceremony.
