Our Stud Farms and Stallion Stations
 

The Jockey Club of Turkey, using scientific methods in its’ Stud Farms and Stallion Stations giving service at various districts of Turkey, embraces it as one of the main target to increase the quality of our racehorses by providing high quality stallions for our breeders.

At the Karacabey Stud Farm, Izmit Central, Torbali, and Adana - Seyhan and Istanbul - Silivri Stallion Stations, throughout the 2006 breeding season, 1070 thoroughbred broodmares were covered by 39 stallions, 22 of which belong to The Jockey Club of Turkey and 17 to private owners. The number of broodmares that were checked to be in foal is 954. On the other hand, the number of those which did not have pregnancy control is 20.

At the Eskisehir- Mahmudiye and Sanliurfa Pension Studs which are established exclusively for the Purebred Arabian Breeding, 439 broodmares were covered by 27 Purebred Arabian Stallions, 19 of which belonging to the Jockey Club of Turkey, 4 to private owners and 4 to TIGEM. The Number of broodmares that were checked to be in foal is 364. Pregnancy control have not been done on 52 broodmares.

Total pregnancy ratio, in 2006 breeding season, is realized as 91, 72% in our studs and covering stations.

A total of 10422 Broodmares, as 7512 thoroughbreds, 2910 Purebred Arabians were covered in our studs in breeding seasons between 2001 and 2006. Out of 10422 broodmares covered, 5679 thoroughbred and 2075 Purebred Arabian broodmares were checked to be in foal.
