The Jockey Club of Turkey has been
organizing International Races in Ankara and Istanbul. Starting from year
2008, the International races will be organized as an International Racing
Festival in two consecutive days at the first weekend in September.
This
year, The International Racing Festival will be held on 4th and 5th of September with
total purse of 1.343.000 to be distributed in 6 races.
The International Bosphorus Cup G2
and the International Topkapi Trophy earned black type status in 2003 and
then, they have been promoted to first part of the International Cataloguing
Standards Book in the year 2009. Also the International France Galop FRBC
Istanbul Trophy and the International Anatolia Trophy earned the black type
status after having been promoted to second part of the International
Cataloguing Standards Book in the year 2009.
SHIPPING RULES AND TRANSPORTATION SUBSIDIES
The Jockey Club of Turkey will make a subsidy of; 7.500 Euros for
THOROUGHBRED horses, 3.000 Euros for PUREBRED ARABIAN horses non placed in
first four, who will take start at the International Races on 4-5 September
2010 provided that they have travelled by plane. The Jockey Club of Turkey
cannot be held responsible for any costs under any pretext except the
aforementioned transportation subsidy. Furthermore, The Jockey Club of
Turkey cannot be held responsible for any loss due to any reasons like
accidents, injuries and health problems etc.
The first arrival date of Race Horses to Istanbul is the declaration date
on August 31st, Tuesday after hour 17:00 local time. Race Horses must depart
from Istanbul latest one week after the race day. However, if a horse
arrives in Istanbul Veliefendi Racecourse before the declaration and is
taken out of the race upon the decision of the Board of Handicappers due to
the field size, the entry fees are paid back to the owner/ trainer, but
transportation subsidy is not paid.
