BELGIAN BILL Wins International France Galop - FRBC Trophy

 

 

Thorougbreds racing at the leading countries of the sector in Europe, competed against the thoroughbreds pursuing their careers in Turkey, at the International France Galop – FRBC Trophy (G2). BELGIAN BILL (Exceed And Excel Gay Romance / Singspiel) owned by Pjl Cooper & Bake and trained by George Baker won the race with its jockey  Fergus Sweeney.

The race was held on 3rd September at the Veliefendi Racecourse on 2000 meters on synthetic track with the participation of 5 thoroughbreds. The total prize of the race was 195.000 € and the fist prize was 115.000 €.  BASEM (Pivotal - Gonbarda / Lando) of the Godolphin finished the race as second 2 L behind the winner and followed by CEMCEM (Akındayım - Gloriana / Marlin) with Özcan Yıldırım and PAYİTAHT (Red Bishop - Marica / Marlin) with Selim Kaya.

 

 

Finish time for BELGIAN BILL was 2.07.53 while the margins were 2 L – ½ L – 2,5 L.

 

BELGIAN BILL finished the International France Galop – Anatolia Trophy as second in 2012, fourth in 2012 and sixth in 2014 before his 4th start and first victory in Turkey.

 

 

Mr. Jean Pierre Colombu, Vice President of France Galop presented a trophy to Tallulah Baker on behalf of the winning owner.

 

 

 

Mr. Jean Pierre Deroubaix, Board Member of FRBC, presented a plate to George Baker, the winning trainer, and Mr. Yasin Kadri Ekinci, President of the Jockey Club of Turkey presented a plate to Fergus Sweeney, the winning jockey of the race.

 

 

Mr. Ömer Faruk Girgin, former President of the Jockey Club of Turkey also participated to the ceremony.
