BLOND ME Victorious in LONGINES International Topkapı Trophy

International Racing Festival, organized for the first time this year with the sponsorship of Longines, took place in Istanbul Veliefendi Racecourse with the participation of thousands of people.

The most important race of the festival sponsored by LONGINES, Longines International Topkapı Trophy (G2) was held on 4th September at Veliefendi Racecourse. BLOND ME (Tamayuz- Holda / Docksider) owned by Barbara Keller and trained by A.M.Balding won the race with Oisin Murphy.

LONGINES Topkapı Trophy, staged a challenging competition between 6 thoroughbreds for a total prize Money of 459.000 € and a first prize of 270.000 € on 1600 m on turf track.

SILENT ATTACK(Dream Ahead - Chanterelle / Trempolino) of Godolphin finished the race as second and followed by DAYIM BENIM (Lion Heart - St Clair Ridge / Indian Ridge) with Halis Karataş and IMPULSIVE (Mizzet Mast - Aces Dancing / Big Shuffle) with Özcan Yıldırım.

Finish time for the winner was 1.36.21 while the margins were H – H – ½ L.

BLOND ME has 4 victories and 4 second place among the 12 starts it had so far. Successful thoroughbred won a listed race last July and then had placements as second in a G3 race in Sandown and a G2 in USA - Belmont Park.

Mr. Yasin Kadri Ekinci, President of TJK and Mrs. Özlem Kıroğlu Geylan, LONGINES Brand Manager presented a trophy and Longines watch to the winning owner Mrs. Barbara Keller.

Mr. Ekinci and Mrs. Kiroglu also presented plates and Longines watches to Anne Balding, assistant trainer and Oisin Murphy, the winning jockey. Mr. Turgut Alakuş, Secretary General of TJK joined the ceremony as well. 

The transportations of the guests of the Longines International Racing Festival within the racecourse was made with Jaguar XJ’s through the sponsorship of Jaguar Turkey Distributor Borusan Otomotiv.
