SHARPA Wins Horse Racing Ireland Trophy

Horse Racing Ireland Trophy was held on Sunday, 02 September at the Istanbul Veliefendi Racecourse.

SHARPA (Kurtiniadis - Dinara / Sri Pekan) owned by Seydi Akyıldırım and trained by S. Bülent Karabağlı, won the Horse Racing Ireland Trophy (Condition-9), with its jockey Özcan Yıldırım. The gray thoroughbred’s latest victory was again with Özcan Yıldırım at the Mimar Sinan Trophy (G3) on 05 August, at the Veliefendi Racecourse.

The race was held on turf on 1600 meters, and the winner was awarded 110.000 TL. LAST SHADOW (Kaneko - Good Memory / Bosporus) finished the race as second and was followed by MONTANA (Mendip - Chillout Moods / Red Bishop) from 2.5 L behind.  INDIAN DADY(Green Gönen - Lakshmi / Barathea) passed the finish line as fourth.

The finish time for the winner was 1.35.82, and the margins were: 2 L – ½ L – 2.5 L.

Jeremy Greene, International Representative of ITM, presented an award to Seydi Akyildirim, the winning owner of the race.

Mr. Greene also presented awards to the Mr. Akyildirim, on behalf of the winning jockey and trainer.

Mr. Sadettin Atig (Secretary General of TJK), Mr. Hakan Yuceturk and Mr. Yuksel Gokturk (Executive Board Members of TJK), and Dr. Ender Ayinder (General Coordinator of the Executive Board of TJK) also attended the cup ceremony.
