TURBO wins the TBMM Race

The Turkish National Grand Assembly race held at the 75th Anniversary Ankara Racecourse on Saturday, May 2 2009 was won by Mr. Erdin Düzarat’s TURBO (Gr.h. Rikardo - Gülbanaz) with jockey Halis Karataş by 1.47.26.

TURBO who made his debut last year in Ankara maintained its undefeated status as well as carrying the number of its consecutive wins to 19. Turbo made its owner 400.000 TL in winning and a total sum of 552.000 TL with added breeder and registration fees. The runner-up prize money for the race was 160.000 TL, the third place was 80.000 and the fourth place was 40.000.

As one of the most important races for the Purebred Arabian Horses run on turf track on 1600 meters (Open G1 / TR / DHÖ), Mr. Remazan Kaya’s Purebred KAFKASLI came in second, Ms. F. Funda Baykal’s ÇIRAĞAN came in third and Mr. Abdülkadir Özhancı's Purebred HABERKAN finished fourth (Margins; long- long- 3,5 horse lengths)

The owner of the winning horse Mr. Erdin Düzarat was presented his award by the Deputy chairman of the Turkish National Grand Assembly Mr. Eyyüp Cenap Gülpınar.

The trainer of the winning horse received his award from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Mehmet Mehdi Eker.

The President of the Jockey Club of Turkey Mr. Behçet Homurlu presented an award to the winning jockey, Halis Karataş.
