Farewell Ceremony for Eszter Jeles at the Veliefendi Racecourse

On Sunday, 19 September, a farewell ceremony was organized at the Veliefendi Racecourse for Eszter Jeles, who lost her life on Saturday, 18 September.

Red carnations were laid down on the table where Turkish and Hungarian flags, and Eszter Jeles’ photo was placed, before the ceremony at the Winner Circle. Then, a minute of silence was held by all participants at the Veliefendi Racecourse for her.

Eszter Jeles’ mother Andrea Molnar Jelesne gave a speech at the ceremony: “It is very difficult to describe our feelings. Eszter specifically chose Turkey to ride. Years ago, she shared a post on her social media account. ‘If I die one day due to my passion for speed, please do not be sad. Because, I will be smiling at that moment’. We would like to thank Jockey Club of Turkey and all who were with us during our time in Turkey. We will never forget your supports.”

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Jeles family and her loved ones.

May God rest her soul in peace.
