TJK Stallion SRI PEKAN Dies
Jockey Club of Turkey’s 23 years old veteran stallion SRI PEKAN (Red Ransom - Lady Godolphin / Son Ange), sire of numerous successful progenies, died on August 18, 2015.
Sri Pekan, born on February 4, 1992, started his racing career in 1994. He won 5 of his 6 races as a 2 years old colt. He won some important races in Great Britain such as G2 Champagne Stakes (by 6 lengths), G2 Richmond Stakes and G3 Coventry Stakes.
Sri Pekan started his stallion career in 1996 and then Jockey Club of Turkey purchased it in 2002. He presented successful thoroughbreds to the breeding industry of the world. Sri Pekan is the sire of 214 individual winners of his 371 starters in Turkey. Total prize money obtained by his progenies has been almost 45.4 Million Turkish Liras so far.
